[28.08] HST Servicing Mission Observatory Verification

G.Sleiman (STScI), P.Stanley (STScI)

The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Servicing Mission and observatory\\ recommissoning constitutes many activities including the replacement of the\\ Wide Field Planetary Camera (WF/PC) with the WFPC2 and the exchange of the \\ High Speed Photometer with the Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial\\ Replacement (COSTAR). The recommissioning period is referred to as the\\ Servicing Mission Observatory Verification (SMOV) program. An overview\\ of the SMOV plan is described with an explanation of the steps that\\ the HST SMOV team will go through prior to and directly following the\\ servicing mission. The goal of SMOV is to recover the spacecraft\\ and return it to a science operational mode as quickly and smoothly\\ as possible. Accompanying the explanation and presentation of SMOV\\ there will be a brief discription of the Servicing Mission itself.\\
