[41.11] Preliminary Results from the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer Deep Survey

The Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer (EUVE) satellite performed a sensitive all-sky survey in four bandpasses across the EUV, centered at roughly 100~\AA, 200~\AA, 450~\AA\ and 600~\AA. A deep survey along the ecliptic was also done in the 100~\AA\ and 200~\AA\ bands covering an area of 180$^{\circ}$ by 2.1$^{\circ}$. We present the initial results from this deep survey, giving the location and fluxes of the new EUV sources and possible optical identifications. Given these identifications, we will show the distribution of stellar spectral type of the detections in the deep survey and compare them to the spectral type distribution in the all-sky EUV survey. The implications of a different spectral distribution of sources in the two surveys will be discussed with respect to the luminosity function of late-type stars and the spatial distribution of the interstellar medium.
