[116.03] HI AND OH ZEEMAN OBSERVATIONS OF S106

D.A. Roberts, R.M. Crutcher (UofIL), T.H. Troland (UofKY)

\def\Blos{\hbox{B$_{\rm los}$}}

Recent VLA absorption line observations have been carried out in in the HI ($\nu$=1.409 GHz) and OH ($^2{\Pi}_{3/2}$ J=3/2 F=1-1 \& F=2-2; $\nu$=1.667 \& 1.665 GHz) spectral lines toward the star-forming region S106. In addition to the kinematic information, these observations provide measurements of the line-of-sight component of the magnetic field (\Blos) via the Zeeman effect in all three lines. As expected, \Blos~ is similar in the two OH lines at $\sim$150 $\mu$G with a peak of $\sim$300 $\mu$G. In the HI line, \Blos~ is observed in a single synthesized beam and is $\sim$50$\mu$G.
