[16.04] A multi component wavelet analysis of the B5 molecular cloud

As we have previously shown, the molecular cloud B5 is surrounded by an almost complete HI halo (Andersson, Roger & Wannier, 1992). Here we present a multiscale decomposition of the HI emission associated with the B5 molecular cloud using Laplacian Pyramid Transforms (Langer et al. 1993). We analyze the fractal structure of HI around B5 and derive the global wavelet energy spectrum. We discuss the scale size distribution of the atomic emission and compare it to the distribution in the molecular gas as traced by CO.
