The APS Catalog of the POSS I is now available to the astronomical community over the Internet via NASA's Astrophysical Data System (ADS). This catalog is the result of digitized scans of the blue (O) and red (E) plates of the first Palomar Sky Survey, and includes all matched images down to the plate limit. Parameters derived from these include positions, magnitudes, colors, and neural network-derived star-galaxy classifications. Other image parameters are the fitted diameters, ellipticities, orientation angles, and tranmission values. These data are accessed via ADS using the StarBase database manager, which was developed to optimize searching on these large plate catalogs. An index catalog listing the available plates is also on-line, containing whole-plate position, exposure, and calibration information.
