[53.02] Mechanisms for Cold Clouds Survival in Cooling Flows

We use a 2D hydrodynamical simulations to test the survival of cold dens clouds moving in cooling flow environment. We show that the cloud can survive and can even grow by cooling and condensation. This is in contrast to the predictions from linear stability analyses of flows around cold clouds ( with or without cooling included) and 2D numerical simulations in which cooling was not included. We conclude that the condensation onto cold clouds in non-linear in nature.
