[75.02] VLBI observations of the gravitational lens, MG0414+0534

J.D. Ellithorpe, J.N. Hewitt (MIT)

Observations of {\sf MG0414+0534} at optical and radio frequencies show four bright, compact components in a configuration consistent with gravitational lensing. The bright nature of the components in the radio provides a good opportunity to observe {\sf MG0414+0534} using Very-Long-Baseline-Interferometry (VLBI). On June 7th, 1992 (UT), we observed the {\sf MG0414+0534} system in a standard Mark III Mode B observation with a global array of telescopes. The improved resolution over the Very-Large-Array (VLA) observations serves to reveal additional components, important in deriving a well-constrained lens model. We present high resolution maps of the four components of {\sf MG0414+0534}.
