We describe the current status of a search for hard x-ray emission from 23 globular clusters using BATSE. The high stellar density in globular clusters leads to a vastly enhanced concentration of binary star systems there. Since most hard x-ray transients are thought to be produced by binaries containing a compact object, there should be a higher concentration of hard x-ray transient sources in clusters. We have selected clusters which are removed from the galactic center, to minimize source confusion, and that are either nearby or contain a persistent LMXB. We report the results of a search of 1.5 years of archival data for transient events. The search has a sensitivity of approximately 50 mCrab for integration times of one day.
