Construction of the Navy Prototype Optical Interferometer (NPOI) began in September 1992 on Anderson Mesa, the Lowell Observatory's dark sky observing site. Phase I, an imaging and astrometric interferometer, has been completed. Milestones and challenges met during the construction are displayed in video format.
