[85.09] Early Results from the APP- an Eclipsing Binary in Hercules and a Potential Eclipsing Hyad

Dirk Terrell (UCalgary), Daniel H. Kaiser (Crescent Moon Obs)

We present early results from the recently commenced Automated Photographic Patrol (APP). The APP consists of a 35mm camera piggy-backed to a Meade LX-200 automated telescope which is controlled by a PC clone. Several new variables have been discovered, including eclipsing systems in Hercules and Taurus. We present observations of both systems. At the time of abstract submission, observations on the Taurus system are sketchy, but they suggest that the variable is an eclipsing system and a member of the Hyades cluster. This project is sponsored in part by a Small Projects Grant from the AAS.
