[9.08] The Status of WFPC2 Calibration

John T. Trauger (JPL), Jon A. Holtzman (Lowell Observatory), J. Jeff Hester (ASU), Christopher J. Burrows (STScI), WFPC2 IDT

The WFPC2 was installed in the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) in December 1993. Since then, a significant amount of calibration data has been collected to aid in the understanding of the on-orbit performance of the instrument. This paper will present some of the information learned on-orbit, including a description of WFPC2 image quality, throughput and photometric performance of the instrument, CCD characteristics as observed in the HST environment, and a review of standard calibration procedures for the WFPC2 user. This is an update of recent journal articles which have detailed the on-orbit calibration of WFPC2.
