[49.03] CCD Photometry for the Open Cluster NGC 1342

We present BVI CCD color-magnitude diagrams for the Galactic open cluster NGC 1342. The photometry, which was obtained using the 0.9-m telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory, extends from the main sequence turnoff at V $\approx$ 9 to V $\approx$ 18. We fit a theoretical zero-age main sequence to the observed one in order to derive the cluster reddening and distance. The age is derived via a comparison to theoretical isochrones. We also investigate the effects of differential reddening on the morphology of the color-magnitude diagram.
