[26.07] The Structure of Accretion Disk Boundary Layers in CVs

T. J. B. Collins, M. Wardle (U. Rochester)

We consider the effects of both bulk viscosity and convective heat transport on the structure of accretion disk boundary layers in CVs. We find that the bulk viscosity has little effect on the thermal boundary layer, but changes the size and structure of the dynamical boundary layer. In addition, bulk viscosity allows one to resolve the radial shock. Convective heat transport significantly broadens the thermal boundary layer.
