[35.05] A History of High-Energy Astrophysics Satellites

L. A. Whitlock, J. S. Allen (NASA-GSFC / HEASARC)

The High Energy Astrophysics Science Archive Research Center (HEASARC) has produced a catalog of all satellite missions which provided (intentionally or not) non-solar, high-energy astrophysics data. Beginning with Explorer-11 in 1961, there have been over 100 such missions to date. Descriptions of each mission, satellite, high-energy instrumentation, sample science results, and references are given, along with a set of images for most missions.
