[39.03] Observing with HST III: The HST PC/LS/CS Relationship and What It Means to the Observer

G. Sleiman (STScI)

As the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) continuously evolves, the working relationships within the Institute and outside of it do, too. Previously an accepted proposer would have a Program Coordinator (PC) and Liaison Scientist (LS) to assist with their proposal processing, science, and instrument questions. In addition to this, there would be other contacts a Principal Investigator (PI) would have to make for their other needs. STScI is trying to consolidate the number of contacts a PI has. Thus, the role of the LS has evolved into that of a Contact Scientist (CS). This change will provide the PI with end-to-end support during the life of their HST programs. This poster will explain the role of each position with respect to the PI, and who the PI will need to contact in reference to their HST program.
