[44.11] Mid-IR imaging of the warm dust emission from the young proto-planetary nebula IRAS 07134+1005

We present diffraction-limited images of the young, carbon-rich proto-planetary nebula IRAS 07134+1005. The images were taken with MIRAC2, the Steward Observatory/SAO Mid-Infrared Array Camera, in November 1994 at the UKIRT. Our broad-band images at 8.8, 11.7, 17.2 and 20.8\micron and narrow-band images at 12.5, 12.8 and 13.1\micron show a similar, bipolar morphology. The peak emission comes from the S-E lobe, about 1.2\arcsec from the center of the nebula. The radially averaged FWHM of the source is about 3.5\arcsec though the nebula appears to be somewhat more compact and elliptical at the shorter wavelengths. The narrow-band images show no evidence for NeII emission at 12.8\microns. Our derived flux-densities for IRAS 07134+1005 appear to be consistent with a dust (continuum) color temperature in the range 100-150 K.
