Session 50 - Active Galaxies.
Display session, Tuesday, January 16
North Banquet Hall, Convention Center
Numerical computations are performed to obtain theoretical spectra for saturated, 22 GHz water maser radiation from a thin Keplerian disk. Comparisons are made with observed spectral features from the subparsec masing disk around the presumed, massive black hole at the nucleus of the galaxy NGC 4258. Information is inferred about the central continuum source and about the nature of the masing gas within the disk.
