[54.02] The Angular Two-Point Correlation Function for the FIRST Radio Survey

The FIRST radio survey now covers about 1600 deg^2 of sky where 07^h30 <\alpha < 17^h30 and 28^\circ < \delta< 43^\circ. This yields a catalog of 138,000 sources of which approximately 20% are part of double or multi-lobed systems. The catalog has been shown to be 95% complete to a flux density of 2 mJy and 80% complete to a flux density of 1.0 mJy. In this study, the angular two-point correlation function is calculated for various subsamples of the catalog. Double and multi-component sources are shown to have a higher clustering amplitude than the sample as a whole. The effects of flux cuts are investigated and small differences in the correlation function from one region of sky to another are discussed. Estimates of the radio luminosity function are used to infer information about the spatial correlation function.
