[67.06] An Upper Limit to Arc-Minute Scale Anisotropies in the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation at 2.1 mm

We present limits on anisotropy in the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB) on angular scales of 1'--4'. The observations were made at a wavelength of 2.1\,mm using the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich Infrared Experiment (SuZIE) bolometer array at the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory (CSO). Two patches of sky (36'\times 4'), free of known sources, were observed for a total of 7 hours each, achieving a sensitivity of 150\muK in each of \sim\,80 independent 1\farcm7 pixels. These data have been combined with various ``toy'' models for the correlation function of CMB anisotropies. A gaussian autocorrelation function (GACF) sets limits of \Delta T/T < 2\times 10^-5 for coherence angles 0.6'<\theta_c<1.8'. The results are compared to previous measurements on these angular scales.
