[81.01] AGB models, the Yields of Helium and CNO products from Intermediate Mass Stars, and Planetary Nebulae Abundances

J. Buell, R. B. C. Henry, E. Baron (University of Oklahoma)

The results of calculations of grids in mass and metalicity of asymptotic giant branch star envelope models are presented. The effects of mass loss, the breakdown of the core-mass luminosity relation at high masses, the effect of the ZAMS abundances and the effects of the preceding stages of stellar evolution on AGB evolution are discussed. The results of these calculations are compared to observed abundances in planetary nebulae. Calculated yields of helium, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and neon are presented.
