Session 87 - Environments of QSOs and Radio Galaxies.

Optical and infrared imaging of a carefully selected sample of radio-loud
quasars, radio-quiet quasars and radio galaxies confirms our preliminary results
that all these quasars are found in luminous galaxies at the top-end of the
luminosity function. The results are not in agreement with the HST data indicating
that quasars can be found in galaxies with lower luminosities (L
