Session 91 - Working Group on Astronomical Software.
Oral session, Wednesday, January 17
Salon del Rey North, Hilton
Data collection for the survey will begin this year. We are developing software at the 8 collaborating institutions using SHIVA, the Survey Human Interface and Visualization Application. This core application supports generic objects for processing FITS images and tables, linked lists, memory management, and plotting. A set of tools supports a platform-independent interface to the make facility, automatic documentation generation, and regression testing. We have developed associated products with generic math libraries, SLALIB routines, and other functions for astronomical computing. I will demonstrate how we use these tools to develop the data processing pipelines for SDSS.
