[6.04] IR Observations of Distant Galaxies with SIRTF: II. The HDF

E. L. Wright (UCLA)

Predicted infrared images of the Hubble Deep Field have been constructed from the HDF catalog. The fluxes for each source in the catalog have been fit using a linear combination of redshifted spectral energy distributions of elliptical and spiral galaxies. The tabulated moments have been used to determine the size and orientation of a de Vaucouleurs profile or an exponential disk that matches the optical size. These geometric and spectral fits are then extrapolated into the infrared 1.6 \mum to 8 \mum wavelength range that will be observable by ground-based telescopes, NICMOS, ISO and SIRTF, and convolved with the point spread function appropriate for each instrument to produce images that can be used to plan plan future observations.
