[18.01] Two Dimensional Stellar Evolution with Rotation

R. Deupree (Los Alamos National Laboratory)

Models of 8.75 solar mass stars with varying degrees of rotation, including up to critical rotation, have been evolved from the zero age main sequence through core hydrogen burning. Some models have been evolved to core helium ignition. The OPAL tables have been used for the equation of state and opacity. The Solberg-Hoiland instability has been followed by hydrodynamic simulations (using the same two dimensional code) in order to determine the redistribution of angular momentum in the latter stages of core hydrogen burning. The various constraints and limitations of the approach are presented.
