[7.08] WISARD Status Report

N. Oliversen, P. Lawton (Hughes STX), M. Van Steenberg (NASA/GSFC ADF)

We present the current status of the Web Interface for Searching Archival Research Data (WISARD). WISARD was developed to improve the accessibilty of the Astrophysics data on the NASA Data Archive and Distribution Service (NDADS) and to facilitate multi-wavelength, multi-mission research using the NDADS archive and related data archives. WISARD supports searches of catalog(s) of archival astrophysical data and subsequent selected data requests to the the appropriate archive(s). Several enhancements have been added to WISARD in the last several months. There are now 10 Observation catalogs (ASCA, BBXRT, ROSAT, HUT, UIT, WUPPE, EUVE, IUE Spectral Catalog, IUE Fine Error Sensor Catalog, and the IRAS Pointed Observation Log) in WISARD. The NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED) name/coordinate resolver is now available, in addition to the SIMBAD name resolver. For each WISARD Observation catalog entry, additional target information, including bibiographic references, is now available from the NED and SIMBAD databases. Links to the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) Abstract Server from the bibliographic reference lists are also available. In the near future, an extended map search feature and a simple browse function will also be added to WISARD. The URL for WISARD is: http://hypatia.gsfc.nasa.gov/wisard/wisard.html
