[8.04] CUBIC Observations of the Cygnus Loop

W. T. Sanders (U. Wisconsin), G. P. Garmire, D. N. Burrows (Penn State U.)

The CUBIC instrument on the SAC-B spacecraft is designed to study diffuse X-ray emission and bright point sources with energy resolution comparable to that of the ASCA SIS or the AXAF ACIS instruments. One of the first observations made by CUBIC following its launch in the fall of 1996 was the Cygnus Loop. We present preliminary spectral analysis of the integrated spectrum of the Cygnus Loop and compare our results to previous results obtained with other instruments.
