[50.05] Kinematics of the Molecular Sheath of the HH 111 Optical Jet

N. M. Nagar, S. N. Vogel, J. M. Stone (U.of Maryland)

We have observed the molecular outflow associated with the HH 111 optical jet at 6\arcsec resolution in the CO J=1-0 transition using the BIMA millimeter array. Both the CO kinematics and morphology show a striking hollow tubular structure surrounding the optical jet. The molecular gas outflow appears directed along the walls of the structure, accelerating from 8 to 24 km s^-1 in less than 1\arcmin. These observations strengthen the evidence for a direct connection between optical jets and molecular outflows. We discuss mechanisms for accelerating the molecular gas.
