[82.03] Probing the Distributions of Dark Matter and Baryons in Abell 2163

A. Babul (NYU)

A2163 is one of most luminous, hottest clusters known. In spite of its exceptional properties, the dynamical state of the cluster is not well understood. Here, I report on recent effort to map out the dark matter distribution in A2163 using both strong and weak lensing features. The findings will be compared and contrasted with results of radio, optical and X-ray studies of the cluster, with the aim of shedding light on the dynamical state of the cluster as well as on the relative distributions of hot gas, dark matter and galaxies in the cluster.
