[37.03] Recent X-Ray Observations of Supernova Remnants

J. P. Hughes (Rutgers U.)

Thanks in large part to X-ray observations by ROSAT and ASCA over the past few years, there have been substantial improvements in our understanding of the nature and evolution of supernova remnants. In this talk I will review a selection of these results as well as others in which our understanding has apparently not improved. Some discussion of the possible impact of AXAF data on research in this field will be given.
