[42.04] Observing with SIRTF: User Tools and the Proposal Process

The SIRTF Science Center (SSC) is located at the Infrared Processing and Analysis Center (IPAC) on the CalTech campus. As part of its responsibilities, the SSC will provide SIRTF user support, will implement the SIRTF science program, and will create and maintain the SIRTF Data Archive. We present the SSC's plans for interacting with the community of potential SIRTF users. We provide an outline of the proposal solicitation and submission schedule and procedures, a summary of the interfaces and tools (mostly based on the Internet and World Wide Web) for users to prepare, submit and track proposals, and the current plans for pipeline data reduction and data product distribution.
