The Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous spacecraft (NEAR) has been added to the 3rd Interplanetary Network of gamma-ray burst detectors. During an initial checkout phase in September and October, 1997, at least 5 bursts were detected by a 4 spacecraft network that included NEAR, Ulysses, WIND, and CGRO. We present the localization data for these bursts and discuss the future possibilities that the addition of NEAR presents.
