[73.12] Results from the November 1997 Flight of the Solar Extreme-ultraviolet Rocket Telescope and Spectrograph (SERTS)

J. M. Davila, R. J. Thomas, M. Swartz, C. Condor, D. Linard II, P. Haas, J. Miko, L. Payne (NASA/GSFC)

The SERTS current instrument obtains spatially resolved spectra of the Sun in the wavelength range of 300-350 ÅThese spectra provide information on the density and temperature of the solar corona in the temperature range of 50,000 K to 5,000,000 K.

The SERTS instrument has been flown before, however the unique aspect of the most recent flight is the opportunity to obtain fully calibrated spectral data. (See companion paper on the calibration procedure by R. Thomas, et al.) In additon during this flight co-observation with SOHO as well as Yohkoh and the VLA will be obtained. The first look at these results will be presented and discussed.
