Session 91 - COBE and the Search for the Cosmic Infrared Background.
Oral session, Friday, January 09
Jefferson,
A direct measurement of the cosmic infrared background (CIB) can provide important constraints on models of the integrated cosmological history of star formation, metal production, and the conversion of starlight into infrared emission by dust. Implications of the COBE/Diffuse Infrared Background Experiment measurements on the evolution of the radiative energy density throughout cosmic history will be discussed.
