[95.06] Testing Models of Structure Formation

E. Gawiser, J. Silk (U.C. Berkeley)

We combine detections of Cosmic Microwave Background anisotropy with observations of Large Scale Structure to test various models of structure formation in the universe. We find that the current data are sufficiently precise to rule out some models but that several survive. If we allow the primordial power spectrum to deviate significantly from scale-invariance, some otherwise marginal models can be brought into agreement with the observations. We demonstrate the power that this method of analysis will have for future high-precision data.
