[105.17] Simulations of NGC 206 and its Effects on M31

R. Mohr (U. Alabama)

NGC 206 is a very large density enhancement in the outer disk of the nearby spiral galaxy M31. Byrd (1984 fnad.proc 26B) and Byrd, Smith, and Miller (ApJ 286, 62-67) have demonstrated that NGC 206 gravitationally affects M31's disk. New simulations improving on these two papers will be presented. I greatly appreciate the use of their n-body code in the presentation of this work.
