Session 11 - QSOs and Radio Galaxies.
Display session, Monday, June 08
Atlas Ballroom,
We present multi-epoch 5 GHz VLBI images of the quasar 1928+738 (z=0.3) made with the Japanese HALCA spacecraft co-observing with the VLBA and Effelsberg. Previous ground-based observations of this source have shown that the evolution of its VLBI-scale structure is consistent with a helical jet which may be caused by Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities driven by the orbital motion in a massive binary binary black hole system. These multi-epoch space VLBI images are used to place further constraints on this model.
