[33.09] The Host Galaxy of GRB 970228

A. S. Fruchter (STScI)

We have obtained HST images of the host galaxy of GRB 970228 using WFPC2, STIS and NICMOS. The wide wavelength coverage, high sensitivity and spacial resolution of these instruments allows us to place limits both on the nature of, and the distance to, the host galaxy of GRB 970228. We discuss these limits, and their implications for our understanding of GRBs and their host galaxies.
