[67.22] [Fe/H] Calibration of \delta Scuti Variables Using Caby Photometry

M. L. Hintz, M. D. Joner, E. G. Hintz, C. G. Christensen (Brigham Young University)

The hk index has been used as a metallicity indicator for RR Lyrae variable stars (Baird 1996, AJ, 112, 2132). Baird found a relationship between [Fe/H] and hk at a given (b-y). Evidence will be given that for (b-y) < 0.200, the \log g affects the [Fe/H]-hk relationship. Employing spectroscopic abundances of stars with published hk values and Kurucz models, a 3-D interpolation is used to determine [Fe/H] from (b-y), c_1 and hk values. The resulting [Fe/H], \log g and T_eff values for 11 \delta Scuti stars will be presented.
