[43P.10] High Resolution Microwave Observations of the Zonal Structure of Saturn's Atmosphere

L. A. Molnar (Calvin College), D. E. Dunn (University of Iowa)

We present VLA observations of Saturn obtained in February 1997 (when the ring inclination was 5 degrees) at 1.3, 2.0, 3.6, 6.1, 18, and 20 cm wavelengths. The latitudinal structure in these maps is consistent with the (lower resolution) November 1995 maps we have shown previously. Features generally correlate well among the various wavelengths, although there are small, but significant differences in the spectra of various features.

We will briefly discuss the physical interpretation of these features, and the implications for zonal dynamics in the troposphere.
