We have obtained observations with ISOPHOT in its high resolution imaging mode, PHT 32, of 10 young stellar objects at 50 and 100\mum. These observations were aimed at searching for extended emission around the young objects, and, especially, in trying to understand to what extent the extensive far-infrared emission from the stars might be produced by compact disks versus extended envelopes. Our results show that about half the objects are quite compact with some evidence for resolution in a few cases. Several other objects, especially the two T-Tauri stars included in our sample are clearly embedded in very diffuse, extended emission which is almost certainly heated by multiple sources. One of the sources observed had been observed previously with the somewhat higher spatial resolution possible with the KAO, and the ISOPHOT results appear consistent with those earlier data. We have examined the results in detail for one of our program stars, HD9704 8, and attempted some preliminary modeling using a radiative transfer dust code.
