NICMOS images at 1.1, 1.6, 2.2 \mum are presented for a sample of 23 luminous and ultraluminous IR galaxies. The angular resolutions range between 0.1 and 0.2 \arcsec. These data are used to probe the morphology of the nuclear regions at high resolution (0.1 and 0.2 \arcsec) and at wavelength where the extinction is reduced by a factor of 10 relative to visual. A representative sample of the images will be presented, along with a summary of the morphological characteristics for the sample. Aproximately 1/4 of the galaxies show double nuclei separated by 0.300-4 kpc. Extremely bright starclusters are seen in the circumnuclear regions of approximately half the galaxies and nuclear dust 'disks' are seen in 1/4 of the systems.
