[48.02] Theoretical Predictions of Gravitational Radiation

S. A. Teukolsky (Cornell University)

There has been significant theoretical progress in the last few years in our ability to accurately calculate the gravitational radiation from various astrophysical sources. There have also been some changes in our expectations of possible event rates. We will review both these developments, and consider the implications for ground-based detectors like LIGO and space-based detectors like LISA.
