We present the results of a search for brown dwarfs in the Hyades cluster using the 2MASS and POSS2 sky surveys. The selection of sources using infrared JHK data probes substantially deeper than older surveys based on red plate material, allowing brown dwarf candidates to be identified. Our coolest candidates have colors consistent with the new "L dwarf" spectral class. We discuss constraints upon the IMF near the hydrogen burning limit of this dynamically evolved cluster.
