We have taken a number of spectra around the eccentric orbit of the massive binary Iota Orionis with the 1-m CHARA/GSU `MTT'. By means of an analysis of several luminosity-sensitive line features in four wavebands \(408, 444, 452, and 660 nm\) we have attempted to better estimate the luminosity class of the B1 secondary. This result relates to the question of coevality and possible binary-binary collisions. With the latter \(660\) band, we also monitored the H-alpha emission before, during and after periasteron on several passages to see if we could confirm the directed wind emission feature previously seen by us at periasteron.
