[75.15] QSO Absorption Probes In The Direction Of The Hubble Deep Field

C. T. Liu (Columbia Univ./AMNH), C. D. Impey, C. E. Petry (Univ. of Arizona)

We present a catalog of 31 QSOs and their spectra in the square degree of sky centered on the Hubble Deep Field. These QSOs were detected with multicolor photometry and subsequently confirmed with spectroscopy. They range in magnitude from B=17.6 to B=21.1 and in redshift from z=0.14 to z=2.98, and comprise a grid of absorption probes which can be used to study the correlation between luminous galaxies, non-luminous halos and Lyman-\alpha absorbers in the direction of the Hubble Deep Field.
