[73.11] AGN Light Curves for the 1998 Season

A. C. Sadun, D. Elliott, M. Gilmor (University of Colorado at Denver)

We present here several optical light curves of AGN, particularly of blazars, compiled and monitored in the three broadband filters B, V, and R. Data for various objects are analyzed; we model the activity of these objects, and for each infer the size of the emission region, the mass, and by comparison to the Eddington luminosity, the presence of relativistic components. The standard model is used for the AGN of a supermassive black hole surrounded by an accretion disk, in which matter is flowing from the accretion disk onto the black hole. The data are also gathered in support of observations taken by collaborators at other wavelengths, for their multifrequency campaigns.
