[77.01] A Close-up View of the HESSI Data Analysis System

R. A. Schwartz (NASA/GSFC and RaytheonITSS)

We present an interactive display of the HESSI data analysis system. The HESSI team at Goddard Space Flight Center and the University of California's Space Science Laboratory have spent the last year developing the needed software as part of SolarSoftWare(SSW) using IDL. This software exploits the unique opportunity of the HESSI instrument and telemetry where the fullest spatial, temporal, and energy resolution possible is preserved until the moment of analysis. We plan the release of the full data analysis system several months prior to the launch of HESSI, scheduled for July 2000. Users will have an opportunity to test the current image reconstruction software for HESSI which will include both back-projection and maximum entropy reconstruction procedures. User control of the software will be through command line inputs, although an early version of some of the Graphic User Interface will be available. Prospective users will also have the opportunity to test an early form of the spectroscopic analysis routines.
