[5.01] Extra-solar Planetary Systems: New Discoveries (Invited)

M. Mayor, S. Udry (Geneva Observatory), D. Queloz (JPL, Pasadena)

We will report on the most recent discoveries obtained by two European programs searching for extra-solar planets: the ELODIE survey in the Northern hemisphere from Haute-Provence observatory, the CORALIE survey in the Southern sky from ESO-LaSilla Observatory.

Despite of the moderate size of the used telescopes for this quest (1.93- and 1.2-m telescopes), already significant discoveries have been done and will be discussed in the general frame of exoplanet searches.
