[25.09] Technological Activities of Officine Galileo in support to Planetary Sciences

A. Buccheri (Alenia Difesa - Officine Galileo)

Officine Galileo are involved since a long time in development of instrumentation to support planetary sciences. After the pioneering activities started with the realisation of the D-Mirror and Baffle for the Halley Multicolour Camera of the GIOTTO Mission, Officine Galileo were heavily involved in CASSINI Mission with the development of two major instruments such as VIMS for the Orbiter and HASI for the Probe. Today Officine Galileo are supporting the scientific community, in the frame of ROSETTA Mission, having the industrial responsibility for the development of the VIRTIS and GIADA instruments. Moreover, a strong effort is at present dedicated to the MARS program where Galileo, together with the daughter company Tecnospazio, are supporting the scientific community to develop tools and instruments dedicated to in-situ analyses of the MARS soil.
