[88.13] MSX Galactic Plane Survey Images

D. Mizuno (BC), M. Egan (AFRL), S. Carey, T. Kuchar (BC), S. Price (AFRL)

The Midcourse Space Experiment (MSX) surveyed the entire Galactic plane, extending to a latitude of ±5 degrees, at mid-infrared wavelengths (6 - 26 \mum). This is the highest-resolution (18'') and highest-sensitivity survey of the entire plane in the mid-infrared. We present selected images showing regions of interest from the initial set of plates for the MSX Galactic Plane Survey. The completed plates, soon to be released, cover 0\circ < {\em l} < 360\circ, {\em b} ±5\circ, in 4 bands centered at 8, 12, 14, and 21 microns.
